2021 marks the 37th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), when we at Veterans Housing Scotland (VHS) will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK and thanking them for all they do.

The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering. However, the coronavirus pandemic has rightly raised the profile of volunteering and more people than ever are aware of the immense contribution being made every single day by the UK’s volunteers.

This Volunteers’ Week we will be thanking and celebrating our many volunteers and actively inviting other potential volunteers to become part of the VHS family.

Chief Executive, Kevin Gray said: ‘Volunteers' Week is a chance to celebrate and recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. For 106 years we have successfully supported our tenants and as we look to the future, opportunities exist to continue to support our tenants, all of whom are military veterans who are disabled in new and different ways.’

Veterans Housing Scotland found me the perfect place, not just for my disability but for my interests. I’m a nature lover and enjoy lots of wildlife at the nearby loch; this has improved my quality of life.
